Welcome to St. Anthony’s School, the Catholic Primary school in Riverside, Tasmania serving the people of the Franciscan Parish of the West Tamar.
The welcoming, positive atmosphere of our small, family school is demonstrated in our encouragement and affirmation of each child.

Our school motto: Christ Our Life speaks to us of living every day in the footsteps of Christ, joined to him in community, in prayer and in the actions of daily life.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

St. Anthony's Primary School in the Catholic Parish of the West Tamar is steadfastly linked to the Franciscan Tradition and Spirituality.

The school is working to provide a learning community that will promote the formation of the whole person and develop our students as life-long learners.

Franciscan spirituality calls us to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ in the tradition of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi who embraced creation, nature and the world as a revelation of God. They, together with St. Anthony, lived the message of the Gospel through peacemaking and respect for all things created. Our vision at St. Anthony's is embedded in the spiritual vision of Francis and Clare.

St. Anthony's School strives to foster Gospel values through:

•  a community of faith,

•  reverence for the dignity of life,

•  joy of service to others,

•  an atmosphere of respect and sensitivity to all people,

•  respect for and kinship with all creation,

•  commitment to active non-violence,

•  devotion to the service of those in need,

•  shared search for truth, knowledge, peace, compassion and simplicity.

The whole School community is committed to encouraging the full development of each individual's God given talents, so that the potential of each can be realized, and by sharing these gifts, the lives of others may be enriched.

This Mission Statement guides our community in its work and decision-making.   It provides a focus for the ongoing development and commitment of the whole school community.
